| Magtrol Load Measuring
Pins are temperature-compensated transducers used to measure load and force and provide overload
protection. The pins are mounted into machines in place
of normal shafts and fitted with strain gauges, allowing
them to produce a signal proportional to the measured
load. |

- Admissible overload: 150% of the nominal load
- Overload at rupture: 350% to 700% of nominal load
(according to the model)
- Pin made of high resistance stainless steel.
- Insensitive to external mechanical and chemical
effects (strain gauges inside the pin)

| Operating Principles |
| When forces acting on mechanical constructions
are to be measured, the additional equipment required can
often be costly and difficult to install. The load measuring
pin offers an excellent solution since it acts as a direct
element in the assembly, replacing a non-instrumented pin
or shaft. When employed as a measuring transducer, the load
pin can be used as a replacement for existing pins in: |

| Measurement Principle |
| The load measuring pins operate on a shearing principle. We
measure the deformation proportional to the load through a strain
gauge bridge integrated in the pin. When force is applied to
the load measuring pin along its sensitive axis , the effect
on the strain gauge bridge results in an output signal proportional
to the applied force. The powering of the strain gauge bridge,
as well as the amplification of its output signal voltage, is
performed either by an external amplifier (LB series) or through
its internal amplifier (LE and LU series). Depending on the
execution, the amplifier allows the monitoring of several levels. |
